The Selkirk Rex is a medium to large cobby cat  with heavy boning that gives the cat surprising weight and an impression of power. The coat occurs in both long and short haired versions. The curliness of the coat is variable due to age gender, climate, time of year and hormones, particularly in the female. The Selkirk Rex has an alert and active personality with a sweet and endearing disposition and should be in perfect physical condition.  (G.c.c.f  Standard of points).
